- AXI Inspection: Automated X-Ray Inspection (AXI) is the upgraded version of AOI. It follows the same principle of optical imaging; with only x-rays being the mode of image capture. AXI allows for the inspection of non-visible solder joints. This method is particularly useful for complex Ball Grid Array (BGA) designs.
